Current Horses in the Program
We do not sell to the highest bidder!!! Horses are matched with the right riders, with the budget told to me. Please be aware that I will not sell a horse that you are scheduled to come and see. I also will not sell a horse that I do not feel you are a good fit with. I want these matches to be the best homes and for you to be happy with your purchase!!! All sales include a minimum of 2 lessons if you choose to take them. Travel fees may still be needed if it is a distance.

Mochachina
Grade Paint mare 2011 14.2 hand red dun Available for sale High four figures On Site half lease $400/month includes 4 lessons This mare has moved into the lesson program after pasture pet status of a few years with her prior owner. She really likes the kids and has a very easy trot and canter. We are brushing up some stellar buttons that are hidden under the dust and cobwebs. She shows some real potential as a showmanship horse and will spin her pivots without any contact at all. She is getting back into shape before she heads out hunting, but I see 0 issues once she has had time to get some condition. |
Elsa
AQHA registered mare 2018 14.2 hand red dun Available for sale low five figures On Site half lease $400/month includes 4 lessons This mare is catty and quick. Quiet about almost all things thrown at her and amazing with her people. Honest and easy going. Elsa was started slowly, and trail rode a ton. Elsa has helped round up more than a few cattle and has a natural cow sense. Roped a 400 lb. calf and drug onto the trailer, sorted calves and mama cows. Elsa is a seasoned horse on the hunt field. She easily works from 3rd flight up to 1st flight, even popping over logs and coops. While hunting mare does gate duty, helped with fallen riders, and went off to help staff, including pocket whipping, outrider, and whipper-in. We chose to let this mare grow and didn't push her until later in her 5-year-old year. She has done it all without the wear and tear many would have on a 5-year-old. Like most young horses this mare does better in a consistent work program but is truly a gem anytime. Rider level recommendation- Beginner with supervision will do fine with her. Elsa has been used for intermediate lessons and is a gem for all. |
Irish Gypsy Doc
GVHS Registered Gypsy Vanner x QH 2014 15.2 hand Grulla mare Available for sale low-mid five figures (to approved homes) On Site half lease $500/month includes 4 lessons This big, bodied stout mare can easily do anything you ask. Changing colors throughout the entire year, gypsy is a gorgeous buckskin to grulla colored mare that is just stunning. Started for ranch and western dressage and transitioned into dressage and jumping. Athleticism and grace are what this beauty is, she is sweet without being over the top and very business-like. We are working on 2/3rd level dressage moves as well as jumping consistently 2'9"-3'. Gypsy is a seasoned hunt horse and rides with ease through all flights. She has plenty of will and stamina to ride 1st flight, but is happy to stay back with the gate crew and open and shut gates, stay with a fallen rider, pony a horse along, etc. She can be a little spicy until the first gallop, like many hunt horses learning that the hounds mean it's time to go but settles in immediately. We have used the whip on her, and she is not spooky about it. Gypsy also is great for cattle work, She naturally took to following the calves and is quiet about the rope. I tried my hand showing in the IRHA in 2021 and managed to pull off 4th overall in the open division, without knowing anything about cattle myself and teaching her as I went. She also got reserve in the Novice Amateur division overall and won the ranch roping class overall. If you're looking for an all around dream horse, this is your gal. Rider level recommendation: Confident beginner with supervision through advanced rider will suit her. Used for confident riders in my lesson program. She will test and see what her limits are, so does require you to ride her. Videos: Cattle work- https://youtu.be/WNA9WXnvf_U |
